Farm Update: March 2026

More Updates

Syruping, shearing, and all the spring cleaning! As winter continues, Farming at Four Winds been enlivened with some seasonal projects. While Farmer Joey has been tapping trees and boiling maple syrup, Farmer Courtney has been getting the sheep prepped for lambing season next month. Expecting mama sheep are getting more food for their last month of gestation, and the whole flock had their winter coats shorn off by a local shearer.

Other spring preparation activities have been underway: ordering hopyard supplies, planning gardens, prepping the greenhouse, and building connections with other farmers, growers, and mentors in the area. There is a wealth of activity just starting to gear up, and excitement is building as high season quickly approaches!

Interested in learning or engaging with the farm? We have so much to offer! A two-part foraging course with Vince Aiello starts next month, and tickets for spring lambing and pysanky egg decorating are available on our website. Mixed color free range eggs, Kernza flour, and wool products can also be purchased from our Farm Store.
