Farm Update: April 2026

More Updates

It’s Lambing Season!!! Mama Ewenice was the first to welcome two beautiful Tunis/Cheviot cross lambs on March 23rd. Since then, another 5 babies have joined the flock: two pairs of Tunis/Cheviot crosses and one big Tunis boy. We’re now eagerly waiting and watching for 10 more ewes to give birth!

Outside the sheep barn, Farmer Joey has been busy in the orchard pruning trees and in the hop yards fixing irrigation lines. The signs of new life are everywhere! Hops are starting to pop up from the soil, and the greenhouse is becoming lush with seedlings for our summer blooms.

To celebrate this season, we also hosted two great agricultural events on March 28th: an all-day lambing workshop and the Annual Wisconsin Hop Growers Exchange meeting and board election. We want to extend a big thank-you to Carolyn Ihde with UW Extension and Kelly Froelich from Snake River Acres for facilitating our 2026 lambing workshop, as well as to everyone who made their way out to the farm to learn and connect. The day was a great success!
