Four Winds Farm is now offering yoga classes on Monday evenings with instructor Hally Oliver. Enjoy the peaceful farm setting and start your week the best way possible with one of these choices:

5:00PM: Slow Flow yoga is a steadily paced, mindful modality that incorporates breathwork with focused powerful movements. This class will build strength, energize your body, increasing flexibility + range of motion through deep stretches. Each session includes foundational yoga poses, with special attention to balance, breath and alignment through longer holds. Come break a sweat! Slow Flow is appropriate for all levels of yoga experience and particularly accessible for beginners.

6:15PM: Gentle Restorative yoga works deeply into the muscles, joints and spine. Experience long holds of grounding postures, easing into calm stillness. The mode is rest and digest, attend and befriend. You’ll leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and elongated after every class. This practice is accessible for all levels and especially recommended to balance more intense workouts, a busy lifestyle or stress.

Hally Oliver has been teaching yoga in Madison for 15 years. She aims to help you build a sustainable movement practice that includes pleasure, inspiration and creativity.

CorePower Yoga Chicago is where she received training and certification through Yoga Alliance. That was enough for big city life. She's more at home on the farm with her horse or out in the woods with her dogs and family.

Before yoga, she completed the 750-hour program at Lakeside School of Massage Therapy, graduated from UW- La Crosse, and worked briefly in the enlisted ranks of the US Army.

Her wish is to guide you through sequences that create strength, relieve pain and remind you of your good heart. She believes yoga leads us to community through harmony.

Four Winds Farm’s wine dinner series continues in April with a visit from Château de Cérons and Château Calvimont. Ines de Boussiers, International Sales Manager for these unique properties, will be present to share stories of the region and winery, as well as providing detailed information on each wine tasted. The Farm’s culinary team has crafted a five-course menu for you to enjoy along with six wines representing a selection of vintages from 2018 to 2024.

Located within the Graves appellation, the village of Cérons is recognized for its unique gravel and limestone terroir capable of producing exquisite red, white, and sweet wines. Château de Cérons is dedicated to sustainable management practices in all their vineyards, with particular attention given to continuous cover cropping which preserves soil microflora and fauna while providing high-quality organic matter essential for the vines.

Recently named Chef in Residence of Four Winds Farm, Jon Rosnow will return to Four Winds for this dinner. His menus always feature locally grown or foraged produce and proteins, which he handpicks and preserves himself. Each wine will be thoughtfully paired with a dish to highlight its unique flavors and characteristics. Jay Hutchinson, former sommelier of Michelin-starred restaurants and now Director of Strategy & Business Operations at Four Winds Farm, will oversee wine service.

Menu and wines:

Dream Farm Roseblossom, caramelized apple, arugula, hazelnuts, saba

Château Calvimont Blanc 2024

Learn how you can Curd it Yourself! Join expert Ian Kozaczek, Licensed Cheese Maker and Cheese Researcher, as he facilitates a hands-on cheese making experience.

Participants will learn about the fundamentals of cheese in a fun, informal group environment. They will learn how to make three different types of homestyle cheese – Mozzarella, Ricotta, and Mysost – that can be recreated in their own kitchens. The class will offer taste-tests, recipes, connections, and the opportunity to engage with a certified cheese enthusiast and extraordinaire!

About the Instructor:

Ian is a Licensed Cheese Maker and a Certified Pasteurizer. He first started his cheesemaking journey outside of the 'make room'. Ian was a cheesemonger for over 6 years before dipping his hands into a vat.

Originally from New England, Ian had always heard of America's Dairyland, but didn't fully understand what that meant until moving to Madison 4 years ago. As the manager of the Madison staple, Fromagination, he was introduced to many world renowned, artisanal cheese makers and realized that he'd be honored to join their ranks. Ian now works at the Center For Dairy Research as a Cheese Researcher. Now, almost daily, he discovers some new quality or characteristic of a cheese (while getting to eat plenty of it too). Ian is excited to share his knowledge while teaching classes at Four Winds!
